Q. What is creosote?
A. Creosote is a by-product of combustion, creosote is produced when gases from wood do not burn completely. It is black, hard and often shiny
Q. Why must it be removed from the chimney system?
A. Creosote is the cause of most chimney fires, it corrodes liners and expands to cause blockages. Creosote is extremely flammable and massively heightens the risk of Chimney Fire.
Q. How do we do it?
A. We apply a chemical activator (Cre-away Pro) which converts the hard creosote into softer more pliable soot. We can then remove the modified soot utilising standard sweeping methods.
Please note: The creosote removal service will require 2 visits approximately 6 weeks apart, in extreme cases further visits may be necessary.
